Creative Director Mike Giepert has an extensive record of brand transformation.
After majoring in Graphic Design at the University of Utah, followed by a postgraduate focus in Art Direction at the storied W+K 12 program, his professional career kicked off at Wieden+Kennedy Portland, where he spent a decade as Art Director and Creative Director over such iconic brands as Levi's, Sony, and Dodge.
He then joined Wealthsimple as Executive Creative Director, launching the company's in-house Creative Studio with founder Rudy Adler. From the early stage of just 30 employees, he was pivotal in developing one of Canada's most influential brands during the company's meteoric rise. In his seven years overseeing the brand, he elevated Wealthsimple's profile through award-winning national campaigns, multiple Top-10 App Store products, and a lasting visual design system.
In 2022, he began freelancing to get more hands-on with the creative process, working with clients like Coinbase and Apple from his homebase in Santa Monica. Throughout his career, he has garnered an extensive list of industry awards. His contributions and perspectives have been highlighted in numerous publications such as The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal. And he has shared his expertise as a speaker at events like SXSW and the Fast Company Innovation Festival.
Beyond professional life, his creative interests extend to traveling — having explored over 40 countries — photographing his diverse experiences worldwide. In 2023, he began focusing on his art practice, building an early body of work. He enjoys hosting guests at the property he designed in Palm Springs. And more than anything, he loves being Uncle Mike to three fantastic kids.
